SUSPENSION

Suspension, or body suspension, is the practice of hanging the body from hooks pierced through the skin. This ancient ritual has been practiced in various cultures for spiritual connection, self-reflection, and inner strength. Today, people engage in suspension for many reasons—some seek spiritual fulfillment and transformation, while others want to push their physical and mental limits.

For many, suspension is an intense and unforgettable experience, comparable to bungee jumping. Each person takes away something unique—a sense of inner power, emotional release, or a fresh perspective on personal boundaries.

The process involves inserting specialized suspension hooks (typically 3-6mm thick) beneath the skin, allowing the person to be lifted off the ground. The human skin is incredibly strong and flexible, making it capable of supporting the body’s weight while naturally regenerating and healing.

There are various types of suspensions, each offering a distinct experience. Some styles are better suited for experienced suspenders, while others are accessible to beginners.

We collaborate with Hell.cz in Prague, pioneers of body suspension in the Czech Republic, and we are currently the only studio in Slovakia specializing in this practice.

Every year, we organize a SUSPENSION WORKSHOP, an exclusive event for suspenders and their companions. This workshop is not open to the public. If you’re interested, send us an email, and we’ll add you to our invitation list. You’ll receive an automatic notification whenever a new workshop is scheduled.

If you have any questions about suspension, feel free to ask!

SCARIFICATION

Cutting

- is a form of scarification where the surface layer of skin is deliberately cut to create a permanent scar-based design. Unlike deeper forms of body modification, cutting does not penetrate deeper than tattooing, allowing the body to form a natural and unique scar pattern.

This technique has limitations regarding the level of detail and placement of designs, but it also allows for a highly personal and distinctive aesthetic.

If you’re interested in scarification or want to learn more, contact us, and we’ll be happy to provide additional information.

BODY MODIFICATIONS

Body modifications involve permanent and more extreme alterations to the body. Some of the most well-known and commonly performed procedures include tongue splitting, subdermal implants, and the increasingly popular subdermal chips.

We provide expert advice on these unique modifications and can help arrange and perform them. However, body modifications are not for everyone. Each procedure has specific requirements, and we handle them on a case-by-case basis.

TYPES OF BODY MODIFICATIONS

Tongue Splitting

is a procedure where the tongue is cut from the tip towards the back, usually up to the lingual frenulum (the tissue under the tongue).

  • It is recommended to have a healed tongue piercing before the procedure. Stretching the piercing beforehand helps achieve a deeper split and reduces the risk of reattachment.
  • Not everyone’s tongue is suitable—some people have tongues that are too short for a proper split.
  • A good physical condition is essential, as healing takes approximately three weeks.
  • Expect a week of difficulty speaking and consuming only liquid or soft foods.
  • Once healed, your tongue will function naturally, as it consists of two independent muscles.
  • Speech is not affected—no lisping or other speech impediments occur.
  • And of course, it looks amazing!

Subdermal Implants

- involve placing a biocompatible silicone implant under the skin to create a three-dimensional shape.

  • The implant is inserted into the subdermal layer by making a small incision near the placement site and creating a pocket under the skin.
  • The implant is carefully positioned and secured, and the incision is closed.
  • Healing takes approximately 8 to 12 weeks.
  • Once healed, the implant becomes integrated with the surrounding tissue, creating a striking 3D effect.
  • Choosing the right size, shape, and placement is crucial to avoid complications and ensure comfort.

Subdermal Chips

- are small electronic devices implanted under the skin, usually between the thumb and index finger.

  • They offer various functionalities, such as access control (keyless entry), digital identification, and even contactless payments.
  • The most commonly used chips are RFID chips and payment chips.

Implantation Methods

1. Injection Method:
  • A specialized injector needle (included with the chip) is used to quickly and minimally invasively insert the chip under the skin.
  • This method is quick, straightforward, and leaves only a small puncture wound.

2. Traditional Implantation:
  • A small incision is made, and the chip is inserted like a standard subdermal implant.
  • This method is typically used for larger or more complex chips, such as payment chips.

Important: Clients must acquire their own chips based on their needs and preferences. Our studio specializes in implantation, while the selection of the chip and supplier is left to the client.
